Hi,I suspect that the new Eye Toy (or is it just 'Eye') worksusing the built-in USB Video Class (UVC) drivers thatappeared in 10.4.3 and were finished in 10.4.9If you are running Leopard, you should be fine as well.Does the camera not work (with Skype etc.)?It will not work with macam, of course,but it should work fine with HackTVCarbon etc.If it does not work, please run the 'USB Prober'and send me the log (hxr@verizon.net).macam may support UVC cameras at some point in,the future, but mostly for people using 10.3.Thankshxr. I'm having problems with the PS3 Eye working intermittently. By intermittently I mean on certain boots, the camera works without issue in macam.app, and Skype. On other boots, the camera is detected in both apps, but no picture or sound is transmitted. The fps counter in macam.app runs but nothing is displayed. In addition to.components for FCP, I have Perian and Flip4Mac.components installed.

I've tried pulling either, and both.components out but that doesn't seem to be the fix.What info would someone require to help diagnose the problem? For a starteMacOS X 10.4.11PS3 Eye plugged directly into eMacBelkin powered USB hub into eMac.

Eyetoy 2 and PS3 Eye both work on mac mini with good results thanks to Harald (hxr) and his team of devotees. I have been using the eye toy 2 (silver) with macam drivers with great success with Skype for the last year. This device has a built-in mic with excellent audio.I purchase the PS3 Eye in December as a replacement so my daughter could have here Eyetoy 2 back;). The macam driver has now been developed to include the PS3 Eye. Excellent video, satisfactory sound. The 'Disat' box in settings must be unchecked in my operating environment for the PS3 Eye to be recognised as a camera outside of macam.

Guessing QC 601 170M, which is probably wrong. All of the basic features work for me (mac 10.4.11 with macam0.9.2). I can see people are still working on this cam, since the CVS build 2008-12-17 has some added functionality, but it is a bit buggy when displaying the images.Tough to beat a camera with these specs for under $35; Is there any chance you could include manual gain/exposure adjustments?

There is a lot of potential for this camera to be used for fast object/marker/input tracking applications if gain/exposure and white balance can be controlled manually.Let me know what the major hurdles are for getting the manual settings up and running (if any) and I'll do my best to dig for info, contact people, and help write code if needed.Thanks!Adam Kumpfkumpf@mit.edu. Well, i got a 24' monitor so i needed a webcam, googled and i got this website, and i decided to take the PS3 Eye, while it wors great i have some annoying bugs:1. If i unplug it then the iSight dissapears as well, sometimes restarting skype brings it back, sometimes i need to restart the macbook 2.2 C2d2. Is it a way to get the red light on only when the camera gets active?3.

Wacom tablet. Is is a way to be recognised as i plug it in? If i start skype for ex and i plug it in afterwards, i have to restart skype in order to be abble to use it4.
